PGPD Arrests Two Suspects & Issues Warrant for Third in Brazen Assault

On Sunday night, three suspects walked up to a man in a parking lot in Mount Rainier and, without warning, assaulted him. They then stole his keys and drove off in his car. This happened around 11:15 pm in the 4500 block of 22nd Avenue. Two of those teenage suspects are in custody. Our detectives have identified the third suspect and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. He’s 18-year-old Demarco Green.

His two accomplices are already in custody. They are 17-year-old Ahkilah Carter and 17-year-old Tyrail Leonard. Both are charged as adults in the case. All three of the suspects live in the same home in the 3900 block of South Dakota Avenue in Northeast Washington. Carter and Leonard are in custody in the District where they were arrested on Sunday night shortly after the attack. All three suspects are charged with carjacking, theft and assault.

The victim suffered serious injuries in the assault. He has since been released from the hospital.
