PGPD Arrests Wife in Domestic-Related Homicide in Lanham

The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit arrested a Lanham woman in connection with the murder of her husband. The suspect is 37-year-old Araceli Alvarez- Mendoza. The victim is 36-year-old Fernando Fragoso-Duana. Both lived in the 9400 block of Worrell Avenue. 

On August 23, 2015, at about 12:20 pm, patrol officers responded to the intersection of Seabrook Road and Washington Boulevard for a pedestrian struck. When they arrived, the officers discovered the victim unresponsive and pinned under a SUV.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the couple got into an argument in their home. The victim left the home and began walking in the neighborhood. The suspect followed him in the SUV and preliminarily, it appears she intentionally struck her husband with the vehicle.

Alvarez-Mendoza is charged with first degree murder and is in custody of the Department of Corrections. She has admitted her involvement in the homicide.
