Detectives Charge Suspect in Connection With Fatal Shooting

Henry Reyes

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation into the death of a man in the unincorporated part of Hyattsville. He is 21-year-old Eulises Alvarado-Reyes of Hamilton Street. The suspect is 18-year-old Henry Reyes of the 5700 block of Gallatin Street. The suspect and victim were friends.

On September 15th, at about 10:55 pm, patrol officers were called to a local hospital to investigate the circumstances surrounding a walk-in shooting victim. Alvarado-Reyes was pronounced dead a short time after arriving at the hospital.

The preliminary investigation reveals he had been shot in the 5000 block of 56th Place and then driven to the hospital by witnesses. Preliminarily, it appears the suspect was handling a weapon which discharged and struck the victim.

Reyes is charged with manslaughter and a weapons charge.
