The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide in Langley Park on Saturday. The victim is 23-year-old Fernando Cortez Sanchez. His last known address is in Langley Park.
On September 7th, at approximately 6:00 am, patrol officers responded to the 1400 block of Kanawha Street for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim unresponsive outside suffering from trauma to the upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives are actively working to determine a motive and identify suspect(s).
