Missing Child Found

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a missing child. He is identified as 12-year-old Awwal Ishola. He was last seen in the 9000 block of Contee Road in Laurel on January 1, 2025, at approximately 7:00 pm.

Awwal is a Black male, 4'4" tall and 95 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black winter jacket, tan pants, and brown Crocs. 

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Missing Persons Section at 301-772-8970. 

PGPD Investigates Fatal Shooting

Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday evening in Landover. The deceased victim is 27-year-old Michael Shipman Jr. of Washington, DC.

 
On December 31, 2024, at approximately 8:10 pm, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 7500 block of Landover Road. Officers located Shipman Jr. inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. An adult female was also found with gunshot wounds. She was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
 
Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).

PGPD Investiga Tiroteo Fatal

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios del Departamento de Policía del Condado Prince George’s están investigando un tiroteo fatal que ocurrió el martes por la noche en Landover. La víctima fallecida es Michael Shipman Jr., de 27 años, de Washington, DC.

 

El 31 de diciembre de 2024, aproximadamente a las 8:10 p.m., oficiales respondieron a un tiroteo reportado en la cuadra 7500 de Landover Road. Los oficiales localizaron a Shipman Jr. dentro de un vehículo con heridas de bala. Fue declarado muerto en el lugar. También fue encontrada una mujer adulta con heridas de bala. Fue trasladada a un hospital en condición estable.
