PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Town of Fairmount Heights

Prince George’s County Police detectives are actively investigating a fatal shooting which occurred on Friday in the town of Fairmount Heights. The victim is identified as 32-year-old Elijah Jackson of no fixed address. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

On May 29, 2020, at approximately 3:40 pm, patrol officers responded to the 5300 block of Sheriff Road for the report of a shooting. The victim was located outside in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this fatal shooting. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Tiroteo en Fairmount Heights

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios de la Policía del Condado de Prince George investigan un mortal tiroteo que tomó lugar el viernes en Fairmount Heights. Residential Burglary Suspect


Up first this Wanted Wednesday, our investigation into a residential burglary in Chillum. We are asking for the community’s assistance to identify this suspect who is linked to the burglary at a home on Knollbrook Drive on May 11th. Pharmacy Robbery Suspects


Robbery Unit detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a pharmacy. The preliminary investigation revealed the two suspects robbed a pharmacy in the 7000 block of Allentown Road in Temple Hills on May 23rd.  The suspects displayed weapons and demanded medication and money. Theft from Auto Suspect

Detectives Seek Community’s Assistance in Identifying Suspect Who Robbed Victims at ATMs

Detectives are asking for the community’s assistance in identifying the armed robbery suspect who targeted four victims at ATMs in the county in recent weeks.

The preliminary investigation revealed this suspect committed the four robberies between April 29th and May 10th. Three of the robberies occurred at a bank in the 5400 block of Silver Hill Road in District Heights. A fourth occurred at a bank in the 8500 block of Oak Street in Laurel. In each case, the suspect approached the victim at the ATM, pulled out a gun and demanded cash. The victims were not hurt.
The suspect was seen driving the vehicle in the below pictures.

Detectives Solicitan Ayuda a La Comunidad Para Identificar Asaltante de Víctimas en ATHs

Nuestros detectives están solicitándole ayuda a la comunidad para identificar a un sospechoso de robo mano armada que en estas semanas asaltó a cuatro víctimas mientras retiraban dinero en una ATH del Condado.

La investigación preliminar reveló que el sospechoso llevó a cabo cuatro asaltos entre el 29 de abril y el 10 de mayo. Tres de los robos ocurrieron en un banco ubicado en la cuadra 5400 de Silver Hill Road, en el área de District Heights. El cuarto robo se dio en un banco ubicado en la cuadra 8500 de Oak Street en Laurel. En cada uno de los incidentes, el sospechoso se le acercó a la víctima mientras retiraban dinero de la máquina ATH, sacó una pistola y exigió dinero en efectivo. Ninguna de las víctimas resultó herida.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Stabbing in Langley Park

Updated May 21, 2020: The decedent is identified as 22-year-old Armando Ruiz Calderon of Elkridge. This fatal stabbing remains under active investigation. 

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal stabbing inside of a Langley Park home. Investigators are also working to identify the decedent.The preliminary investigation revealed this was not a random incident.

On May 20th, at approximately 1:45 am, patrol officers were called to the 8100 block of 15th Avenue in Langley Park for the report of a stabbing. They located the decedent, an adult male, inside of an apartment suffering from a stab wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

PGPD Investiga Apuñalamiento Mortal en Langley Park

Actualizado el 21 de mayo de 2020:  El occiso fue identificado como Armando Ruiz Calderon, de 22 años de edad y vecino del área de Elkridge. El mortal incidente sigue bajo investigación.

Nuestros detectives investigan las circunstancias de un apuñalamiento mortal ocurrido dentro de un hogar en Langley Park. La investigación preliminar reveló que no fue un incidente al azar.

El 20 de mayo, a eso de las 1:45 am, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 8100 de 15th Avenue en el área de Langley Park, tras recibir información sobre un apuñalamiento. Una vez allí, los oficiales hallaron a la víctima, un hombre adulto, con una puñalada dentro de un apartamento. A este le declararon muestro en la escena.

Armed Robbery Suspect
We’re starting Wanted Wednesday this week with our search for a suspect wanted for an armed robbery at a business in Bowie. The robbery took place on May 14th at approximately 6:25 am. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect assaulted employees and stole cash and cigarettes. Detectives Charge Two Suspects with Fatal Shooting in Laurel

Homicide Unit detectives identified and charged two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting last month in Laurel. The suspects are 24-year-old Elijah Davis of the 7000 block of Hanover Parkway in Greenbelt and 19-year-old Marcus Hurd of the 7000 block of Old Alexandria Ferry Road in Clinton. They are charged with fatally shooting 24-year-old Briah Jackson of Laurel.

On April 27th, at approximately 5:35 pm, officers responded to an area hospital for the report of two walk-in shooting victims. The subsequent investigation revealed Jackson and the second victim, an adult male, had been shot while sitting in a car in the 8200 block of Gorman Avenue in Laurel. Jackson died of her injuries the next day. The second victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
  
Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified both suspects. 

Davis is charged with first and second degree murder and additional charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status. Hurd is also charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He was taken into custody in Los Angeles, California, where he remains awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Tiroteo en Laurel

Detectives de nuestra Unidad de Homicidios identificaron y acusaron a dos sospechosos en conexión a un mortal tiroteo ocurrido el mes pasado en Laurel. Los sospechosos son Elijah Davis, de 24 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 7000 de Hanover Parkway en Greenbelt y Marcus Hurd, de 19 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 7000 de Old Alexandria Ferry Road en Clinton. A estos se les acusa de haber matado a tiros a Briah Jackson, de 24 años de edad y vecina de Laurel.

El 27 de abril, a eso de las 5:35 de la tarde, nuestros oficiales acudieron a un hospital del área tras recibir información sobre dos pacientes que llegaron con heridas de bala. La investigación subsiguiente reveló que Jackson y la segunda víctima, un hombre adulto, recibieron los balazos mientras se encontraban dentro de un vehículo estacionado en la cuadra 8200 de Gorman Avenue, en Laurel. Jackson murió de sus heridas el día siguiente. La segunda víctima sostuvo heridas menos severas.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in District Heights

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating fatal shooting in District Heights that occurred Sunday. The victim is 18-year-old Deniro Monts of District Heights. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

On May 17th, at approximately 4:05 pm, officers responded to the 6800 block of Atwood Street for a reported shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they located the victim on a sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation revealed three additional people were also shot. One of those victims was critically injured. The other two victims suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are working to identify suspect(s) and establish a motive in this case.

Detectives Arrest Suspect in Fatal Stabbing in Oxon Hill

Homicide Unit detectives charged a man in connection with a fatal stabbing on Saturday. The suspect is 33-year-old Jorge Luis-Lara of no fixed address. He’s charged with killing 41-year-old Yovani Lopez of no fixed address.

On May 16th, at approximately 12:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 6300 block of Livingston Road in Oxon Hill for the report of a stabbing. They located the victim outside suffering from a stab wound. He died at a hospital a short time later.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was in close proximity to the suspect as the suspect argued with a third man. During that argument, the suspect pulled out a knife and the victim was stabbed.

Luis-Lara is charged with second degree murder and first degree assault. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Detectives Arrestan Sospechoso de Mortal Apuñalamiento en Oxon Hill

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios acusaron a un individuo en conexión a un mortal apuñalamiento ocurrido el sábado. El sospechoso fue identificado como Jorge Luis Lara, de 33 años de edad y sin domicilio establecido. Se le acusa de haber matado a Yovani Lopez, de 41 años de edad y sin domicilio establecido.

El 16 de mayo, a eso de las 12:00 am, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 6300 de Livingston Road, en el área de Oxon Hill, tras recibir información sobre un apuñalamiento. Al llegar allí, los oficiales hallaron a la víctima  en las afueras con una puñalada. Éste murió en el hospital poco después.

La investigación preliminar reveló que la víctima se encontraba muy cerca del sospechoso mientras éste último discutía con un tercer individuo. Durante ese argumento, el sospechoso sacó un cuchillo y la víctima fue apuñalada.

Luis Lara enfrenta cargos por asesinato en segundo grado y agresión en primer grado. Se encuentra bajo la custodia del Departamento de Corrección, sin derecho a fianza.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Marlow Heights

UPDATE May 20, 2020: The pedestrian has been identified as 42-year-old Gerardo Contreras-Trevino whose last known address was in Temple Hills.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Saturday in Marlow Heights. 
On May 16th, at approximately 10:00 pm, patrol officers responded to St. Barnabas Road at Cremen Road for a collision involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian, an adult male, died of his injuries on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was struck as he attempted to cross St. Barnabas Road. He was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision. The involved driver remained on the scene and was not hurt.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque Contra Peatón en Marlow Heights

La Unidad de Reconstrucción y Análisis de Choques investiga un mortal choque contra peatón ocurrido el sábado en Marlow Heights. Divulgaremos el nombre de la víctima una vez se logre notificar a su familiares.

El 16 de mayo, a eso de las 10:00 pm, oficiales de patrulla acudieron al área entre St. Barnabas Road y Cremen Road tras recibir información sobre un choque contra un peatón. El peatón, un hombre adulto, sucumbió a sus heridas en la escena.

La investigación preliminar reveló que la víctima fue impactada mientras intentaba cruzar St. Barnabas Road. Éste no se encontraba en un cruce peatonal al momento del choque. El conductor que le impactó permaneció en la escena y no resultó herido.

Homicide Unit detectives are actively working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who recently shot and killed a man in the City of Glenarden. The victim is 29-year-old Curtis Jerron Stevenson of the Woodlawn area. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

On May 14th, at approximately 9:40 pm, officers responded to the 2900 block of Reed Street for a shooting. Responding officers located the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Stevenson died of his injuries two days later.

Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify suspect(s).

PGPD Searches for Missing Man

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing man. He is identified as 22 -year-old Floyd Lester Curtis. He was last seen at approximately 10:00 a.m. on April 12th in the 900 block of Palmer Road in Fort Washington.

Mr. Curtis is described as a black male, 5’10” tall and 145 pounds.

Package Theft Investigations



We are starting Wanted Wednesday highlighting several suspects who are wanted for stealing packages at homes in the county. The preliminary investigation revealed this suspect stole a package on May 5th from a residence on Joe Klutsch Drive in Fort Washington. He was seen driving this pictured SUV. And we’re also working to identify this suspect wanted for stealing a package from a home in Capitol Heights. This time the theft occurred on April 28th on Alton Street. The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect walked up to the victim’s front porch, picked up the package and fled the area in the pictured car. Burglary Suspect


Detectives are also investigating a burglary and a theft from auto that occurred in Lanham. The preliminary investigation revealed this suspect committed the crimes on Walkerton Drive sometime overnight between May 9th and 10th. Assault Suspect



Our next case involves a suspect who is wanted for an assault in Oxon Hill. This pictured suspect, identified as 34-year-old Paulette Ross of the 4300 block of 3rd Street in Washington DC. The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect assaulted a victim following a dispute in the 6000 block of Oxon Hill Road on May 1st.  If you know this suspect’s whereabouts, please call 301-749-5064. Vandalism Suspect


Detectives are asking for our community’s assistance in identifying this suspect in connection with a vandalism. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect caused damage to the victim’s car while attempting to steal items from the car. The suspect was seen fleeing in the above vehicle. Commercial Burglary Suspects



Detectives are also investigating a burglary and a theft from auto that occurred in Lanham. The preliminary investigation revealed this suspect committed the crimes on Walkerton Drive sometime overnight between May 9th and 10th.
