Dayvon Gordon in Custody for 2020 Murder of Andre Cox Jr.

The suspect wanted for the 2020 murder of 22-year-old Andre Cox Jr. in Landover is now in custody. The suspect, 34-year-old Dayvon Gordon, was arrested in Washington, DC, Tuesday evening.

 

On October 27, 2020, officers responded to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue for a shooting. The victim was located outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and died a short time later. An arrest warrant for Gordon was obtained shortly after the murder. Extensive efforts over the years to locate him were unsuccessful. The PGPD, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the victim’s parents recently made a public plea for information in the search for Gordon.

Through various investigative techniques, the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested Gordon on Tuesday. The PGPD is grateful to the Metropolitan Police Department for its assistance with the arrest.

 

“In addition to our tremendous law enforcement partners, the PGPD is also appreciative of members of the media and the community for assisting us by sharing information on our years-long search for Gordon. It took each component to finally bring this murder suspect into custody. Hopefully this arrest brings some comfort to Andre’s still grieving family,” said Chief George Nader, Prince George’s County Police Department.

 

Gordon is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He remains in custody in Washington, DC, pending extradition to Prince George’s County. The motive for the murder remains under investigation.

Driver Involved in June Crash Dies of Injuries

The driver involved in a crash that occurred in early June has died of his injuries. He is identified as 71-year-old Thomas Garner 3^rd of Upper Marlboro.

 

On June 5, 2026, at approximately 12:30 pm, officers responded to the area of Croom Road and West End Farm Road in Upper Marlboro for a single-car crash. Garner, the driver and sole occupant, was transported to a hospital where he died on July 18, 2026. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

 

As always, investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has dash camera or home surveillance footage that may have captured the incident to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department. Even if you believe your footage may not be significant, it could provide valuable information to assist investigators.

PGPD Investigating Multi-Vehicle Fatal Collision in Adelphi

UPDATE: The three decedents in Tuesday’s multi-vehicle crash in Adelphi have all been identified. 

The motorcycle operator is 22-year-old Elvin Martinez Hernandez of Hyattsville. The driver and passenger of one of the involved vehicles are 61-year-old Reddick Speight and 62-year-old Terri Stringfellow, both of Adelphi.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a multi-vehicle fatal crash involving a motorcycle that occurred late Tuesday night in Adelphi. The adult male operator of the motorcycle, an adult male driver of another vehicle, and an adult female passenger all died at the scene. Their identities will be released once families have been notified.

On July 14, 2026, at approximately 11:25 pm, officers responded to the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road for a collision involving three vehicles. The driver and passenger of one of the involved vehicles were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle and one of the involved vehicles were traveling northbound on New Hampshire Avenue approaching Metzerott Road when, for reasons now under investigation, a third involved vehicle, which was attempting to make a left turn onto Metzerott Road, collided with them.

Missing Woman Found

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a missing woman. She is identified as 73-year-old Anne Sanoir. She was last seen in the 2700 block of Arundel Road in Mount Rainer on July 13, 2026, at approximately 8:00 pm.

Mrs. Sanoir is a Black female, 5'4" tall and 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue bandanna, blue shirt, black pants, yellow sock and brown shoes.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a missing man. He is 82-year-old Gordon Zebrauskas. Mr. Zebrauskas was last seen on July 8, 2026, at approximately 12:30 pm in the 4100 block of Kenny Street in Beltsville. He may be driving a silver 2017 Toyota Highlander with Maryland tags 66280HT.

 

Mr. Zebrauskas is approximately 5’9’’ & 160 lbs and was last seen wearing a plaid shirt and blue jeans.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Temple Hills

7/09/26 UPDATE: The deceased pedestrian in Tuesday's fatal pedestrian collision has been identified as 60-year-old Anthony Wigglesworth of Washington, D.C.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Temple Hills. The deceased pedestrian’s name will be released once his family is located and notified.  

 

On July 7, 2026, at approximately 8:30 pm, officers responded to the 4700 block of St. Barnabas Road for the collision. The victim died of his injuries a short time later at a hospital.

 

The preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on St. Barnabas Road while attempting to cross the roadway. The driver remained on the scene and was not injured.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Monday afternoon in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro. The deceased driver is 23-year-old Juan Hawkins of Brandywine.

 

On July 6, 2026, at approximately 3:30 pm, officers responded to a collision involving two vehicles in the 11900 block of Croom Road. Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second-involved vehicle was taken to the hospital with severe, but non-life-threatening injuries. 

 

The preliminary investigation revealed that both vehicles collided head-on while traveling on Croom Road. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash in Cheverly

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Monday morning in Tuxedo. The deceased driver is 40-year-old Anthony Butler of Washington, D.C.

 

On July 6, 2026, at approximately 12:30 am, officers responded to the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Creston Street for a crash involving two vehicles.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed the two cars collided at the intersection. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Despite life-saving measures, Butler died at the scene. The other involved driver and passengers were taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash in Adelphi

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Saturday morning in Adelphi. The deceased passenger is 74-year-old Peter Acha of Lanham.

On July 4, 2026, at approximately 8:00 am, officers responded to the 3400 block of Metzerott Road for a crash involving one car. Acha, a passenger in the vehicle died of his injuries a short time later at a hospital. The driver suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
 
The preliminary investigation revealed the driver was heading westbound on Metzerott Road, when for reasons now under investigation, he lost control and struck a tree.

Detectives Charge Suspect in Domestic Related Homicide

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a man in connection with the domestic-related murder of his former girlfriend. The suspect is 31-year-old Terrence Penn Jr. of Temple Hills. He is charged with the murder of 31-year-old Dakota Keys of Capitol Heights.

On July 4, 2026, at approximately 10:10 pm, officers responded to the 1900 block of Brooks Drive for the report of a shooting. Officers located the victim inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound(s). She was pronounced dead on the scene.

After the shooting the suspect fled the scene and then turned himself into police a short time later. 

Penn Jr. is charged with first- and second-degree murder. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash

 The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday in Brandywine. The deceased driver is 43-year-old Alejandro Alonso Herrera of Clinton. 

On July 1, 2026, at approximately 8:45 am, officers responded to the 4400 block of Floral Park Road for a single-car collision. Herrera was the driver and sole occupant of the car. He died at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
