PGPD District IV Hosts Community Walk on 23rd Parkway

Prince George’s County, Maryland… District IV Commander, Major James A. Harper and the District IV COPS office joined District 7 Councilwoman Karen R. Toles and other community leaders for a Community Walk with residents along 23rd Parkway in Temple Hills last night. The event was designed to maintain an open dialogue between the community and the police department by providing an opportunity for the District IV Command Staff to address the community’s concerns about crime and neighborhood safety.

District IV Commanders and COPS officers shared information with over 75 residents throughout twelve blocks of the 23rd Parkway corridor sharing information about the “Summer Crime Initiative” as well as educating the community on crime prevention and preventative safety tips.

“Our goal of community engagement is working. We continue to see progress as more members of our communities continue to join our walks,” said Major James Harper.
