The Prince George’s County
Police Department is seeking the community's assistance in identifying the
suspects seen in the above surveillance photographs. Detectives believe the
suspects are linked to two separate attempted ATM thefts.
On August 14, 2013, at
approximately 4:50 am, patrol officers were called to the Exxon Mobil gas
station in the 4700 block of Allentown Road in Suitland for the report of a
robbery. Two suspects had unsuccessfully tried to steal an outdoor ATM by
using a chain and a pickup truck. A short time later, around 5:15 am,
patrol officers were called to the Citgo gas station in the 5700 block of Old
Branch Avenue in Camp Springs for the report of a breaking and entering in progress.
As patrol officers were arriving on scene, the suspects drove away in a pickup
truck. The suspects had driven the truck into the side of the store and
tried to steal the ATM. The pickup truck, which detectives later learned
was stolen, was recovered a short distance away.
Detectives are linking these
two cases based on the timing, locations and style of pickup truck used in the
two attempted thefts. Detectives also released a crime solvers flyer
offering a cash reward in these cases. Up to $1,000 is being offered for
information leading to an arrest and indictment.
Anyone with information on
the identity or whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call the Prince
George’s County Police Department’s Southern Regional Investigation Division at
