PGPD's Summer Strategy: “Following the Firearm” Innovative Policing Concept to Target Traffickers

The Prince George’s County Police Department is launching a new, innovative policing concept to get guns off our streets. Violent crime is down 16.5% year to date in Prince George’s County.  We’re working hard to see that success continue.  We’re determined to do more.  The PGPD is flooding the streets with patrol officers and investigative units.  This comprehensive effort goes beyond removing illegal guns to ultimately tracking down the trafficker.

Prince George’s County Police Chief Mark Magaw and Deputy Chief Henry Stawinski provided details of this summer strategy and introduced our community to the leaders of our gun tracking teams.
