Oxon Hill Murder Suspect Caught on Camera





The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide at an Oxon Hill hotel. The victim is a hotel employee and is identified as 27-year-old Jesse Alexis Chavez of Lorelei Court in Fort Washington. Detectives today released surveillance video of the suspect. 

On October 21, 2013, at about 10:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the Clarion Hotel in in the 6400 block of Oxon Hill Road for an unknown trouble. When officers arrived, they discovered Chavez had been shot during a robbery.  He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect walked into the hotel, jumped over the counter, pulled out a gun and demanded cash from an employee.  The employee complied.  Moments later, Chavez approached the suspect and the two got into a struggle which continued out the hotel’s front door. During the struggle, Chavez was killed.  The suspect then ran to a car and fled in a dark-colored sedan.
