Detectives Arrest Suspect in 2015 Springdale Homicide

Afolbi Ijaoba

Our Homicide Unit arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in Springdale in 2015. The suspect is 23-year-old Afolbi Ijaoba of the 3800 block of Asquith Court in Springdale.

On November 10, 2015, at about 1:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the 3700 block of Ladova Way for the report of a crash involving a single car. When they arrived, they found the crashed car unoccupied. The driver, 59-year-old Bernard Parker of Springdale, had already been taken to the hospital. Investigators quickly determined Parker had been shot inside of his car prior to the crash.

Detectives believe the suspect shot the victim during a robbery attempt.

Ijaoba is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. He is charged with first degree murder, first and second degree assault along with related firearms charges. He is being held on a no-bond status.
