PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in the Town of Riverdale Park

Update December 23, 2019: The victim in this fatal shooting is 32-year-old Jorge Abzun-Ascencio of Hyattsville. Anyone with information in this case is asked to call 1-866-411-TIPS.

The Prince George’s County Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning in the town of Riverdale Park. The victim’s identity will be released once notification is made to his family.

On December 20^th, at approximately 12:25 am, patrol officers with the Riverdale Park Police Department were called to the 5400 block of Kenilworth Terrace for a shooting. They discovered the victim outside of a building suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Detectives are working to develop suspect(s) and a motive in this case.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur in the town of Riverdale Park.

Detectives Investigan Mortal Tiroteo en Riverdale Park

Actualización –23 de diciembre de 2019. La víctima del asesinato fue identificada como Jorge Abzun-Asencio, de 32 años de edad y vecino del área de Hyattsville. Pedimos que cualquier persona que tenga información sobre éste caso, llame al 1-866-411-TIPS 

La Unidad de Homicidios de la Policía del Condado de Prince George’s investiga un asesinato a tiros ocurrido temprano en la mañana del viernes en Riverdale Park. La identidad de la víctima se hará pública una vez logremos notificar a la familia.

El 20 de diciembre, a eso de las 12:25 am, oficiales del Departamento de la Policía del Riverdale Park acudieron a la cuadra 5400 de Kenilworth Terrace tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Allí hallaron a la víctima con una herida de bala, en las afueras de un edificio. A éste le declararon muerto en la escena.

En estos momentos nuestros detectives buscan identificar posibles sospechosos y establecer el motivo del delito en este caso.

El Departamento de la Policía del Condado de Prince George’s investiga todo homicidio que ocurra dentro de la jurisdicción de Riverdale Park.
