The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision in Brandywine. The victim is 39-year-old Dempsey Herring Jr. of Waldorf.On April 29th, at approximately 9:20 pm, patrol officers were called to Brandywine Road and Lee Acres Drive for the report of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.The preliminary investigation revealed Herring was traveling southbound on Brandywine Road when for reasons that remain under investigation, he crossed the double yellow line, left the roadway and ultimately struck a pole. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque de Motocicleta en
Brandywine
La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción
de Choques investiga un mortal choque de motocicleta ocurrido en Brandywine. La
víctima fue identificada como Dempsey Herring Jr., de 39 años de edad y vecino
de Waldorf.
El 29 de abril, a eso de las 9:20 de
la noche, nuestros oficiales acudieron al área entre Brandywine Road y Lee
Acres Drive tras recibir información sobre un choque individual de motocicleta.
La investigación preliminar reveló
que Herring viajaba en dirección sur sobre Brandywine Road cuando, por razones
que aún permanecen bajo investigación, rebasó las dos líneas amarillas, se
salió de la vía de rodaje e impactó un poste. Éste fue declarado muerto en la
escena.
