PGPD Investigates Murder in College Park

Updated June 4, 2014: The victim is identified as 25-year-old Catina Cortes of Far Rockaway, New York.  Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. You will not have to give your name. There is a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

The Prince George's County Police Department is investigating a murder in College Park.

On June 3, 2014, at about 1:15 pm, patrol officers were called to a hotel in the 9100 block of Baltimore Avenue for a welfare check. When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside a hotel room. She was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Detectives are working to identify the victim and suspect(s) and establish a motive.
