PGPD to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

 


The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is conducting a sobriety checkpoint. The checkpoint will run from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm on May 27, 2026. It will take place in the northern portion of the county.

 

The PGPD always encourages drivers to remain sober or use alternatives to get home safely, to include a designated driver or a rideshare.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision

UPDATE June 17, 2026: Subsequent investigation determined this fatal crash occurred on Joint Base Andrews property. The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is assisting Joint Base Andrews with this ongoing investigation.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal single vehicle crash that took place early Saturday morning. The deceased passenger has been identified as 54-year-old Marcia McNair of Fort Washington.

On May 23, 2026, at approximately 3:00 am, officers responded to the area of Suitland Road and Allentown Road. Once on scene, they located the passenger in a vehicle suffering from trauma. She was pronounced dead on scene. The driver, an adult female, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was traveling eastbound on Suitland Road approaching Allentown Road, when for reasons now under investigation, the vehicle struck a utility pole.

Homicide Detectives Obtain Arrest Warrant and Fugitive Unit Apprehended Suspect in Fatal Stabbing in Suitland

 



Anforne Golden


The Prince George’s County Police Department Fugitive Unit located and arrested 30 year old Anforne Golden of Suitland in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Golden is charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Amari Clarke of Suitland, Maryland.

On May 8, 2026, at approximately 12:20 p.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of St. Barnabas Road for the report of a stabbing. Clarke was located suffering from stab wound(s) . He died a short time later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation revealed Golden stabbed Clarke during a dispute. The suspect and victim were known to each other.

Golden is charged with first and second degree murder as well as first and second degree assault.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Suitland

 The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively working to determine the circumstances of a fatal shooting inside of an apartment early this morning in Suitland. The decedent is 23-year-old Dwight Young of Suitland.  

 

On May 18, 2026, at approximately 2:45 am, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 3500 block of Terrace Drive. Young was transported to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. He died of his injuries a short time later.

 

All parties involved in this shooting have been identified. They are known to each other. Investigators are actively conducting interviews and analyzing evidence. Detectives are also in consultation with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office regarding any charges in this case.
