Police Make Arrest in Fatal Shooting in Landover

     The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested 21 year-old Thomas Everett Chester III in connection with the murder of Brian Keith Tann which occurred in Landover, Maryland.

     The investigation revealed the incident stemmed from a dispute between Chester and Tann, who were known acquaintances. On January 13, 2012, homicide detectives obtained a first degree murder warrant for Chester, who turned himself in without incident earlier today. Chester has been remanded to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections on a no bond status.

     On January 12, 2012, at approximately 10:24 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 7700 block of Bender Road for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, patrol officers found Brian Keith Tann, 43, of the 7700 block of Bender Road, lying inside the residence suffering from trauma to his body. Tann was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
