PGPD Investigates Accidental Shooting of Six Year Old

On April 9, 2012, at 2:40 p.m., the Prince George’s County Police Department responded to the 6000 block of Arbutus Lane, Clinton, Maryland, for a shooting.  Upon arrival, the victim was found in a bedroom suffering from what appeared to be an accidental gunshot wound.  The victim was then transported to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC, where he was pronounced dead.  Investigators have charged Raymond Allen Brown, who is a resident of the home, with Reckless Endangerment and Firearms-Access By Minors.  Investigation revealed that Brown had brought a handgun into the home.   No further information will be provided about the identity of the six year-old shooting victim at this time.  The handgun was recovered.  The investigation continues, to include the determination of the legal ownership of the handgun.
