PGPD Arrests Suspect for Sexual Assault in Lanham

Sexual Assault Unit detectives identified and arrested the suspect who sexually assaulted a woman in Lanham. The suspect is 35-year-old Kalvine McGee of no fixed address. The suspect and victim do not know each other.

On June 24th, at approximately 8:30 pm, detectives were called to a local hospital for the report of a sexual assault. The victim told detectives she had been out walking near Cipriano Road and Tuckerman Street at approximately 4:00 am that morning. The suspect approached her as she walked, threatened her with a gun and forced her into his car. He then drove to a nearby parking lot where he sexually assaulted her. McGee then fled the area.

Detectives worked around the clock to identify and arrest McGee. He is charged with first degree rape, first and second degree assault and several other charges. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status. He has admitted his involvement in this attack.

This is the only reported crime of this nature in the area.
