PGPD Investigates Fatal Shooting in Riverdale

Homicide Unit detectives are actively working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who shot and killed a man in Riverdale. The victim is 18-year-old Adam Hartman of Riverdale. 

On May 9^th, at approximately 8:00 pm, officers responded to the 6000 block of 67^th Avenue for a shooting. Responding officers located the victim in an apartment building suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital. 

Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify suspect(s).

PGPD Investiga Mortal Asesinato a Tiros en Riverdale

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios buscan identificar y arrestar al sospechoso(s) que mató a un individuo en Riverdale. La víctima fue identificada como Adam Hartman, de 18 años de edad y vecino de Riverdale.

El 9 de mayo, a eso de las 8:00 de la noche, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la 6000 de 67th Avenue tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Los oficiales hallaron a la víctima dentro de un apartamento con múltiples heridas de bala. A éste le declararon muerto en un hospital poco después.

PGPD Investigates Domestic-Related Murder/Suicide in Lanham; Surviving Shooting Victim Remains Hospitalized

The Homicide Unit is investigating what led to a domestic-related fatal shooting inside of a Lanham home late Friday night. The preliminary investigation revealed the deceased suspect shot and killed one woman and wounded a second woman. He then turned the weapon on himself. The deceased suspect is 54-year-old Kevin Darryl Ballard of the 9000 block of Walkerton Drive. The deceased victim is 23-year-old Tai Hilliard. Ballard was in a relationship with a relative of the deceased victim. All three lived in the home on Walkerton Drive.

On May 8^th, at approximately 11:15 pm, officers responded to the residence for the report of a shooting. They located Ballard with what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Hilliard was also located suffering from a gunshot wound. They were both pronounced deceased on the scene. The second shooting victim, another adult female, was rushed to a hospital for treatment. She remains hospitalized.

PGPD Investiga Asesinato/Suicidio en Lanham; Víctima Sobreviviente de Tiroteo Permanece Hospitalizada

La Unidad de Homicidios investiga qué llevó a un mortal tiroteo de naturaleza doméstica dentro de un hogar en Lanham, tarde en la noche del viernes. La investigación preliminar reveló que el fenecido sospechoso disparó contra y mató a una mujer e hirió a una segunda. Éste luego utilizó el arma contra sí mismo. El sospechoso fue identificado como Kevin Darryl Ballard, de 54 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 9000 de Walkerton Drive. La fenecida víctima fue identificada como Tai Hilliard, de 23 años de edad. Ballard estaba en una relación con un familiar de la fenecida víctima. Las tres personas vivían en la residencia de Walkerton Drive.

El 8 de mayo, a eso de las 11:15 de la noche, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la residencia tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Brandywine

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday evening in Brandywine. The victim is 37-year-old Nicholas Howard Moore of Brandywine.

On May 10^th, at approximately 8:20 pm, officers responded to the 14200 block of Brandywine Road for a collision. Moore, the driver and only occupant in a pick-up truck, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed Moore was traveling southbound on Brandywine Road, when for reasons that are under investigation, his truck left the roadway. The truck struck a pillar in front of a building and ultimately overturned. No one else was hurt at the scene.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque en Brandywine

La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Choques investiga un mortal choque vehicular ocurrido en Brandywine, el domingo en la tarde. La víctima fue identificada como Nicholas Howard Moore, de 37 años de edad y vecino de Brandywine.

El 10 de mayo, a eso de las 8:20 de la noche, oficiales del Condado acudieron a la cuadra 14200 de Brandywine Road tras recibir información sobre un choque vehicular. Moore, el conductor y único ocupante de la camioneta pick-up, fue declarado muerto en la escena.

La investigación preliminar reveló que Moore conducía sobre Brandywine Road en dirección sur cuando, por razones que aun permanecen bajo investigación, su camioneta salió del rodaje. La camioneta impactó un pilar que había frente a un edificio y finalmente se volcó. Nadie más resultó herido en la escena.

Detectives Charge Suspect in Camp Springs Fatal Shooting

Damani Reddix

Homicide Unit detectives identified and charged a suspect in connection with a homicide in Camp Springs on Saturday. The suspect is 17-year-old Damani Reddix of the 6300 block of Maxwell Drive in Camp Springs. He is charged with fatally shooting 22-year-old Jose Romero-Salgado of District Heights. Reddix is charged as an adult.

On May 2^nd, at approximately 6:50 pm, patrol officers were called to the 5200 block of Carswell Avenue for a shooting. Romero-Salgado was located outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The preliminary investigation revealed the shooting stemmed from a verbal dispute. Reddix is charged with first degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Detectives Acusan a Sospechoso en Mortal Asesinato en Camp Springs

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios identificaron y sometieron cargos contra un sospechoso en conexión a un homicidio ocurrido el sábado en Camp Springs. El sospechoso fue identificado como Damani Reddix, de 17 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 6300 de Maxwell Drive en Camp Springs. A éste se le acusa de haber matado a tiros a Jose Romero Salgado, de 22 años de edad y vecino de District Heights. A Reddix se le estará acusando en calidad de adulto.

El 2 de mayo, a eso de las 6:50 de la tarde, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la cuadra 5200 de Carswell Avenue en Camp Springs tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Los oficiales hallaron a Romero Salgado en las afueras del lugar con múltiples heridas de bala. A éste le declararon muerto poco después.

La investigación preliminar reveló que el tiroteo surgió a raíz de una disputa verbal. Reddix enfrenta cargos por asesinato en primer y segundo grado, entre otros. Éste se encuentra bajo la custodia del Departamento de Corrección, sin derecho a fianza.
