PGPD Hosts Annual Iron Team Endurance Competition

On Wednesday, Prince George’s County’s finest will show their true grit when the Police Department’s Special Operations Division hosts its annual Iron Team Endurance Competition in Laurel.


The competition is open to law enforcement agencies, military and fire personnel. Approximately 30 teams from as far away as New Jersey signed up to take on the grueling challenge. The participants will be tested mentally and physically in a variety of exercises. Each four-person team will have to complete a 3.5 mile trail run, zodiac boat paddle, water crossing, tire pull, equipment carry and the list goes on with 16 obstacles in all. Highlights of last year’s competition are posted below.
