Detectives Arrest Suspect in Capitol Heights Homicide


The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with Saturday’s fatal shooting in Capitol Heights. She’s 32-year-old Markena Townsend of the 10200 block of Prince Place in Upper Marlboro.

On January 30, 2016, at about 3:40 pm, patrol officers were called to the 300 block of Addison Road South for the sound of gunshots. The victim, 45-year-old Gilbert Hall III, was found outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He died a short time later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation reveals the shooting was drug-related. Townsend is charged with first degree murder. She’s in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.
