PGPD Arrests Four Suspects in Camp Springs Homicide

The Prince George’s County Police Department has now arrested four suspects in connection with a fatal shooting in Camp Springs in January. The suspects are 28-year-old Brandon Dominique Carroll of the 500 block of Wilson Bridge Drive in Oxon Hill, 20-year-old Deaunzae Hamlin of the 6100 block of Surrey Square Lane in District Heights, 26-year-old Douglas Redfear of the 1100 block of Kennebec Street in Oxon Hill and 26-year-old Carlos Maurice Williams of the 3500 block of Silver Park Drive in Suitland.

On January 19, 2016, around 9:30 pm, patrol officers were called to the 4300 block of West Village Avenue for a shooting. When they arrived. they found the victim, Franklin Young Jr., inside of his apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Preliminarily, the motive appears to be a drug-related robbery. All four of the suspects are charged with first and second degree murder, home invasion and assault charges. They are in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
