PGPD Makes Quick Arrest in Domestic-Related Triple Homicide

Clifford Browne, Jr.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit made a quick arrest this weekend in a domestic-related triple homicide in Oxon Hill. The suspect is 34-year-old Clifford Browne, Jr., of the 6300 block of Morocco Street in Capitol Heights. He’s charged with fatally shooting 40-year-old Lakeysha Walters of Southern Avenue in Oxon Hill, her daughter, 25-year-old Shaneka Walters of Southern Avenue in Southeast Washington and 45-year-old James Gibson of Eaton Road in Southeast Washington. A fourth victim was also shot. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.

On November 13, 2015, at about 10:20 pm, patrol officers were called to an area hospital to speak to a walk-in shooting victim. That investigation led officers to an apartment in the 1400 block of Southern Avenue in Oxon Hill. The three deceased victims were found in that apartment.

Detectives quickly established Browne as the suspect. The preliminary investigation reveals he and Shaneka Walters had previously been in a relationship. Investigators are working to identify a motive in the fatal shootings. Browne was arrested Saturday. Browne is charged with three counts of first and second degree murder. He’s in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.
