Detectives Release Video of Homicide Suspect

Updated July 22, 2016: New video of suspect in Capitol Heights homicide.






The Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting in Capitol Heights on Wednesday. The victim is 68-year-old Alonzo Jackson of G Street in Southeast Washington. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Tipsters will not have to give their name.

On July 20th, at about 7:00 am, patrol officers were called to a gas station in the 4900 block of Marlboro Pike. When they arrived, they found Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at a hospital several hours later.

The preliminary investigation reveals Jackson had just filled up his car when the suspect approached and shot him. The suspect then sped off in the victim’s car. The car is a 2015 black Dodge Charger with DC tags DF0113.
