On
Thursday, July 19th, Maryland State Police arrested Prince George's
County Police Captain Thomas Hart who has been suspended from our agency for
more than three months. Hart, a 22-year veteran of the department
assigned to the Bureau of Patrol, is charged with 1 count of felony assault and
1 count of misdemeanor assault stemming from a dispute yesterday with another
individual who is known to Hart.
Captain
Hart, 52 years old, was suspended without pay back in April stemming from a
criminal investigation in an unrelated matter.
Our
Internal Affairs Division is investigating.
We
cannot offer further comment at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
