PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Capitol Heights

Detectives with the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday evening in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. The victim is 36-year-old Nelson Bonilla-Reyes of Capitol Heights. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.  

On December 31, 2023, at approximately 10:30 pm, officers responded to the 1400 block of Dunbar Oaks Drive for a shooting. Once on scene, they located the victim outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).
