PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that took place Wednesday night in Fort Washington. The deceased driver has been identified as 24-year-old Blake Greenwell of Waldorf.

On September 2, 2026, at approximately 9:40 pm, officers responded to the area of Indian Head Highway and Palmer Road. Once on scene, they discovered an SUV and two sedans involved in the collision. The driver of one of the sedans, Greenwell, died at the scene. His passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. The drivers of the remaining two vehicles were not injured. 

The preliminary investigation revealed the two sedans were traveling northbound on Indian Head Highway approaching Palmer Road while the SUV was traveling southbound. For reasons now under investigation, the three vehicles collided at the intersection.  

As always, investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has dash camera or home surveillance footage that may have captured the incident to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department. Even if you believe your footage may not be significant, it could provide valuable information to assist investigators.
