District IV COPS Participate in Dr. Seuss' Read Across America Day

On Friday, March 2, 2012, members of the Prince George's County Police Department's District IV COPS program read to local students as part of the Dr. Seuss' Read Across America Day.  Sergeant Tori Smith along with Police Officer's First Class Sharita Phillip and Keisha Scott shared their time and read popular selections from the respective author to local students at Glassmanor Elementary School in Oxon Hill.  Below are highlights from their time shared with the students earlier today.

   

Identity of Suspects Sought in Commercial Armed Robbery in Capitol Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department is working to identify the suspects shown in the above surveillance photographs.  On March 1, 2012, at approximately 10:20 p.m., the suspects committed a robbery at the New China Carryout located at 4121 Southern Avenue in Capitol Heights, Maryland.

Anyone with information that may assist in this investigation is asked to call CRIME SOLVERS at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or CID-Robbery Unit at 301-772-4905 as soon as possible.  Please refer to case number 12-061-3001.  Whenever information is given to the Prince George’s County Crime Solvers Line, you do not have to leave your name.  A REWARD of up to $1000.00 is being offered for the tip that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspects responsible for this robbery.

A cash reward of up to $1000.00 is being offered.

Police Seek Identity of Persons of Interest in Connection to Check and Fraud Case

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Financial Crimes Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals who are considered persons of interest in connection to a check and fraud case that occurred in January, 2012.  If anyone has any information as to the identities of these people please contact Det. Chaffee of the Financial Crimes Unit at #301-772-4422 and refer to case number 12-037-2522 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.  

District VI COPS to Host Adult Identification Program Seminar

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s District VI Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) unit, along with a group of concerned citizens, identified a need to establish and implement an Adult Identification Program.  This program, similar to the Child Identification Program, provides caregivers with an organized folder that can be used to collect pertinent information about at-risk or vulnerable adults.  This information can then be used by law enforcement in the event that the adult is reported missing.  A seminar, highlighting the program, is scheduled for Friday, March 2, 2012.
