The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a now fatal pedestrian collision that occurred in early August. The deceased pedestrian is 65-year-old Anthony Wright of Washington, DC. Investigators have been attempting to locate his next of kin to inform them of his death which was completed on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
On August 5, 2026, at approximately 1:40 am, officers responded to the area of Indian Head Highway and Farmington Road for a pedestrian collision. Wright was transported from the scene to a hospital where he died on August 28, 2026.
The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was walking on Indian Head Highway when, for reasons now under investigation, he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound. The driver, who was not injured, remained on scene.
As always, investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has dash camera or home surveillance footage that may have captured the incident to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department. Even if you believe your footage may not be significant, it could provide valuable information to assist investigators.
