PGPD Investigates Homicide in District Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide in District Heights.  The victim is identified as 20-year-old Nafee Curtis Smith of the 1900 block of Addison Road South in District Heights.  A cash reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On November 7, 2013, at about 11:55 pm, patrol officers were called to the 1600 block of Addison Road South for the report of a shooting.  When they arrived, the patrol officers found Smith suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He died of his injuries at a hospital a short time later.

The preliminary investigation reveals the victim was walking alone on Addison Road South when the suspect approached, pulled out a gun and shot Smith. Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify the suspect. Preliminary, this does not appear to be a random murder.
