Media Advisory: PGPD and USPS to Revisit Landover Community in Murder Investigation

Tomorrow morning, Prince George’s County Police detectives and U.S. Postal Inspectors will revisit the Landover community where a postal carrier was recently murdered.  They will pass out Crime Solvers flyers seeking information in the murder of Tyson Jerome Barnette.  The canvas will follow the route Barnette was working the day he was killed.  A combined reward of up to $125,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On November 23, 2013, at about 7:20 pm, patrol officers were called to the 1600 block of Reed Street for a shooting.  When they arrived, they found Barnette suffering from  gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.  Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), text “PGPD plus your message” to CRIMES (274637) on your cell phone or go to www.pgcrimesolvers.com and submit a tip online.
