PGPD to Revisit Landover Community for Postal Carrier Homicide Investigation

Prince George’s County Police detectives will return to a Landover community at 4:00 pm today to pass out Crime Solvers flyers regarding the murder of a postal carrier this weekend. Detectives continue to follow leads and solidify information in this case and hope to gain new information from neighbors.

Detectives will concentrate their efforts in the 1600 block of Jutewood Avenue. That’s where, on November 23, at about 7:20pm, patrol officers found Tyson Jerome Barnette suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Barnette, of Upper Marlboro, was a U.S. Postal Service employee, on duty at the time of the murder.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.

There is a combined reward of up to $125,000 available courtesy of the United States Postal Service and Crime Solvers for information leading to an arrest and indictment of the responsible suspect(s).  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at (301) 772-4925.   Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or text "PGPD plus your message" to CRIMES (274637) on your cell phone or go to www.pgpolice.org and submit a tip online.
