The grand opening weekend of the Tanger Outlets at the National Harbor went off even better than anticipated. The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Special Operations Division (SOD) took on traffic operations in and around the outlets beginning on Friday, November 22. Officers managed an astounding 212,000 customers from Friday through Sunday who arrived in nearly 71,000 cars. To help shoppers navigate traffic, the PGPD took to Twitter on Friday using the hashtag #OperationOutlets to provide live traffic updates, to include parking lot availability. There were no significant issues to report over the course of the three-day opening weekend.
