PGPD Investigates Homicide

Updated December 1, 2013: The victim is identified as 23-year-old Nii Akpeng of the 2500 block of Buck Lodge Terrace in Hyattsville.  Anyone with information in this homicide is urged to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.  You won't have to give your name.  A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide near Landover.

On November 29, 2013, at about 4:50 am, patrol officers were called to the 3700 block of West Street for a shooting.  When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was shot during a dispute following an after hours party.  Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in the case.
