The Prince George’s County Police Department is taking part in two upcoming “Gift Cards for Guns” events. The first is this weekend. In an effort to further reduce gun violence in Prince George’s County, the PGPD will accept guns from citizens who voluntarily trade them in. The firearms do not need to be functional. In return, citizens will receive a gift card valued up to $150. Participating citizens should place all firearms, unloaded, in the trunk of their cars. A uniformed police officer will greet them at the entrance and provide further instructions. Unwanted ammunition may be submitted as well. No BB or pellet guns please.
