Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested Frederick Scott, and Malik Jamar Huff, both 24, in connection with the March homicide of Phillip Jared Watson, 30, in Edmonston, Maryland.
On March 4, 2011 at approximately 1:03 a.m., patrol officers from the Edmonston Police Department and PGPD responded to the Surf Club located in the 4700 block of Kenilworth Avenue for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Phillip Watson, of the 4300 block of Varnum Place N.E. in Washington, DC suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Homicide Detectives identified Frederick Scott of the 1900 block of Oliver Street, and Malik Huff of the 5600 block of Cypress Creek Drive, both in Hyattsville, as suspects in this case. Scott was arrested on May 5 on a warrant in Las Vegas, Nevada and is awaiting extradition back to Prince George’s County. Huff was arrested early yesterday morning within the County on a warrant and has been remanded to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, Maryland on a no bond status. Detectives have established this incident stemmed from an altercation between the victim and the suspects inside the Surf Club prior to the shooting.
