The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Fort Washington.
On December 13, 2012, at 6:30 am, police officers responded to the 9200 block of Livingston Road in Fort Washington for a traffic accident. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male pedestrian suffering from trauma sustained in the collision. The adult male was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation suggests the driver of a green Subaru fell asleep while traveling on Livingston Road. The man’s vehicle left the roadway, jumped a curb, and struck the man who was on the sidewalk. A woman who was also on the sidewalk was not hurt. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. Speed, alcohol, and/or drugs are not currently believed to be factors in this accident. The investigation is ongoing.
