Detectives to Canvass Bladensburg Neighborhood in Homicide Investigation

This evening, detectives with our Homicide Unit will canvass a Bladensburg neighborhood to gather additional information in a fatal shooting Monday night. The victim is 28-year-old Karl Sellers Jr., of Oak Street in Cheverly. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On November 14th, at about 10:30 pm, officers with the Bladensburg Police Department were called to the 5000 block of 57th Avenue to help a man with a suspected medical emergency. The officers found the victim inside of an apartment building and discovered he was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital
Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case. The canvass will begin at 5:00 pm in the 5700 block of 57th Avenue.
