On Thursday, Chief Hank Stawinski will join
county leadership and his Executive Command Staff to honor PGPD officers for
their service to the community. In many of these instances, the officers put
their own lives in extreme risk in order to save another.
Among the officers who will be recognized at the
ceremony on Thursday – two patrol officers who rushed to help three citizens
who had fallen through a frozen pond. One of the officers fell through the ice
himself. Members of our Harbor Unit will also be honored for their
tremendous efforts to help save workers who were in perilous danger on the
Woodrow Wilson Bridge after a fiery crash.
