Detectives Charge Suspect for Fatal Shooting in Town of Forest Heights

George Bell

Homicide Unit detectives identified and arrested a suspect in Sunday’s homicide in the Town of Forest Heights. The suspect is 37-year-old George Bell of the 5600 block of Woodland Drive in Forest Heights. He’s charged with fatally shooting 31-year-old Sammy Robinson II of Livingston Road in Oxon Hill.

On November 25th, at approximately 9:45 am, patrol officers responded to the 5600 block of Woodland Drive for a welfare check on an unresponsive man outside in a yard. When they arrived, officers discovered Robinson suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives developed Bell as the suspect. The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and victim got into an argument over an earlier traffic accident between the two men.  That argument led to the fatal shooting.

Bell is charged with first and second degree murder. He’s being held on a no-bond status at the Department of Corrections.
