Detectives with the Homicide Unit arrested and charged a 15-year-old female from District Heights with manslaughter and related charges. She is charged as a juvenile in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old male from Oxon Hill.
On January 26, 2022, at
approximately 6:00 pm, patrol officers responded to the 4900 block of
Glassmanor Drive for a shooting. The victim was located inside of a home
suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced
dead a short time later.
The preliminary investigation
revealed that the suspect was handling a firearm in the home when it
discharged. The round struck the decedent, subsequently killing him.
Preliminarily, detectives believe the shooting was accidental.

PGPD Acusa a Joven por Homicidio Negligente en Oxon
Hill
Detectives de nuestra Unidad de Homicidios arrestaron y sometieron cargos por homicidio negligente, entre otros, contra una joven de 15 años y vecina de District Heights. La misma está siendo acusada en calidad de menor por el mortal tiroteo de un joven de 16 años quien residía en Oxon Hill.
El 26 de enero de 2022, a eso de las 6:00 pm, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la cuadra 4900 de Glassmanor Drive tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. A la víctima le hallaron dentro de la residencia con una herida de bala. A este le trasladaron a un hospital en donde le declararon muerto poco después.
La investigación preliminar reveló que la sospechosa estaba manejando el arma de fuego en la casa cuando se dio la descarga. La bala impactó al fenecido y posteriormente le ocasionó la muerte. De manera preliminar, los detectives entienden que se trató de una descarga accidental.
