Detectives with our Homicide Unit are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday in Bowie. The victim is 33-year-old Javon Washington of Glenn Dale. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On May 5, 2022, at approximately 11:00 pm, patrol officers responded to a local hospital for the report of a gunshot wound victim who had been driven there in a private vehicle. The preliminary investigation revealed that while the victim’s car was sitting at a stop light at the intersection of Enterprise Road and Annapolis Road a black SUV pulled up next to the victim's vehicle and fired multiple shots striking the victim. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives are actively working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
