PGPD Police Athletic League Hosts Three Day Basketball Skills Clinic

The Prince George's County Police Department's Police Athletic League (PAL) hosted a basketball skills clinic this past week on Thursday, September 29th through Saturday, October 1st.  This co-ed three day clinic was designed to teach youth between the ages of 11-18 the fundamentals of the game.  At the conclusion of the clinic, participants were treated to a fun filled day of games and bowling.

PGPD to Hold Chief’s Quarterly Awards Ceremony Recognizing Department and Community Public Safety Excellence

Prince George's County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department will host a Quarterly Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Chief Mark A. Magaw will be recognizing over 90 police officers, civilian employees, and community members for their commitment to crime reduction and public safety.

Highlights include an off-duty Prince George’s County Police Officer who, while vacationing in Florida, rescued a young boy that was drowning and two officers whose quick and decisive actions saved several citizens from an apartment fire.

Identity of Suspect Sought in Residential Armed Robbery in Bowie



The Prince George’s County Police Department is working to identify the suspect shown, and the vehicle driven, in the above surveillance photographs. On September 22, 2011, at approximately 8:16 p.m, the suspect committed an armed residential robbery in the 4300 block Fruitwood Court in Bowie, Maryland.  As the victim was entering her residence, the suspect struck the her with an object and took her purse.  The suspect immediately fled the area. 

Anyone with information that may assist in this investigation is asked to call CRIME SOLVERS at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or CID-Robbery Unit at 301-772-4905 as soon as possible. Suspects Wanted for Armed Robbery of Auto Service Business in Chillum


The Prince George’s County Police Department is working to identify the suspects shown in the above surveillance photographs. On September 30, 2011, at approximately 5:54 a.m., the suspects committed an armed robbery at Cha’s Auto Service located at 5818 Riggs Road, in Chillum, Maryland.
