Amber Alert Issued for Child Abduction in Landover

Maryland AMBER Alert: The alert is for Wuilbert Garcia a 9 year old Hispanic male allegedly abducted by a Hispanic female named Silvia Garcia operating a 93 Black Mercedes, MD: 8AG0407 last seen near Landover, MD on 03-15-2012 at 7:50 AM.

The Maryland State Police have issued a Maryland AMBER Alert on behalf of the Prince George’s County Police. Further information is as follows:

Child: Wuilbert Caceres Garcia is described as 4 ft tall and 80 lbs with Black hair and Brown eyes. The child was last seen wearing Wht polo shirt/Blu pants (school uniform). Other description: None.

Suspect: Silvia Guadalupe Garcia is described as 36 years old and being 5-02 and 130 lbs with Black hair and Brown eyes. The suspect was seen wearing Unknown. Other description: None.

Vehicle: 1993 Black Mercedes 190 class with MD tag: 8AG0407. Other descriptors: Dent on right rear door.

Anyone with information on the child’s whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911 or the Prince George’s County Police at 301-352-1200.

PGPD Announces Arrest in 2008 Murder on 66th Place

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested 56-year old Ottmar Amasa Johnson in connection with the murder of 35-year old Robert M. Reid in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Homicide detectives identified Ottmar Johnson, of the 5000 block of Market Street in Philadelphia as a suspect in this case and obtained a first degree murder warrant for his arrest. Johnson was arrested in Philadelphia on March 1, 2012, without incident. He was extradited back to Prince George’s County and is currently at the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.

On April 5, 2008, at approximately 6:22 a.m., officers responded to the 4700 block of 66th Place for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered Robert Reid, of the 900 block of University Boulevard in Silver Spring, located in the basement of a home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. Investigators determined that Johnson shot Reid after an altercation between the two while at a house party.

PGPD Announces Arrest in Murder on Brooks Drive


Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested 27 year-old Jonathan Blades in connection with the murder of 19 year-old Darryl Nicholas McCoy in Suitland, Maryland.

Homicide detectives identified Jonathan Blades, of the 18600 block of Nathans Place in Gaithersburg, Maryland, as a suspect in this case.  Jonathan Blades was arrested in the 2900 block of St. Clair Drive in Temple Hills, Maryland, on March 12, 2012.  Jonathan Blades has been charged with first degree murder and has been remanded to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, Maryland on a no bond status. 

On January 5, 2012, at approximately 2:18 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 2000 block of Brooks Drive to check on the welfare of an unresponsive male.  Upon arrival, officers found 19 year old Darryl Nicholas McCoy, of the 3500 block of Silver Park Drive in Suitland, lying near the parking lot of an apartment complex suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  He was pronounced dead on scene.  Detectives are currently working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case.
