PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision Involving Bicyclist

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving a bicyclist in College Park. The victim is 77-year-old Robert Dickey of 38^thStreet in Southeast Washington.  

On September 12th, at about 7:30 am, patrol officers were called to the 4600 block of Paint Branch Parkway for a collision involving a car and a bicyclist.

The preliminary investigation reveals the involved car was stopped at a red traffic signal on Paint Branch Parkway. Dickey was riding his bicycle in the crosswalk and attempting to cross the street. When the traffic signal turned green, the driver pulled forward and struck Dickey.

Dickey was taken to the hospital where he died several hours later. The driver of the car remained on the scene.

Detectives Obtain Arrest Warrant for Suspect in Sexual Assault in New Carrollton

Update 5:15 pm: We received calls from two alert citizens this afternoon who spotted the suspect at the Huntington Metro Station after we released his photo. Metro Transit Police quickly took him into custody. Robinson is now in custody in Fairfax County awaiting extradition back to Prince George's County. We thank these members of the community and our law enforcement partners for their help arresting this suspect.

Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant and are actively searching for the suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault in New Carrollton on Sunday. The suspect is 23-year-old Darren Samuel Robinson of no fixed address.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect broke into the victim's apartment in the 5400 block of 85th Avenue around 7:00 am. The suspect sexually assaulted the victim and stole several items from her home before running out. 

During the course of the investigation, Robinson was developed as the suspect.

Detectives Arrest Suspect in Sunday's Homicide in Landover

Homicide Unit detectives arrested a suspect in connection with Sunday's homicide in Landover. The suspect is 29-year-old Ronald Timothy Roberts of the 5600 block of 54^th Avenue in Riverdale. He’s charged with fatally stabbing 36-year-old Rashard Hubbard of 55th Avenue in Hyattsville.

On September 11th, at about 1:15 am, patrol officers were called to the 6900 block of Hawthorne Street. They found Hubbard outside suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and victim were involved in an argument. During that argument, the suspect stabbed the victim. 

Roberts is charged with first and second degree murder. He is in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Detectives Investigate Sexual Assault in New Carrollton

Updated September 12, 2016: Today at 5:00 pm, Prince George's County Police detectives will canvass a New Carrollton neighborhood to gather information in a sexual assault that occurred Sunday morning. 

Detectives are working to identify and arrest a man who sexually assaulted a woman this morning in New Carrollton. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect broke into the victim's apartment in the 5400 block of 85th Avenue around 7:00 am. The suspect sexually assaulted the victim and stole several items from her home before running out. 

The suspect is about 5'9" - 6'0" and 170 - 190 pounds. He wore a white and orange striped shirt, black pants and black shoes.
