Wanted Wednesday


Bank Robbery Suspect



We’re starting Wanted Wednesday this week with video of a bank robbery. The suspect on the surveillance video targeted a bank in the 400 block of Manning East Road in Accokeek on February 13th. He demanded cash from an employee and then ran from the bank. We are offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Restaurant Robbery Suspect


Detectives are working to identify the suspect pictured above. On February 22nd, at 9:00 pm, the suspect robbed a restaurant located in the 15000 block of Livingston Road in Accokeek. He entered the business, pointed a handgun at the employees, demanded cash from the register then quickly fled the restaurant. Armed Robbery Investigation


We have a good look at our next suspect. The suspect robbed a tobacco store on Livingston Road in Oxon Hill on February 18th shortly after 6:00 pm. He walked in, displayed a weapon and demanded money. He then fled the business. If you have any information on his identity, please call 301-772-4905 or 1-866-411-TIPS. You will not have to give your name and could earn a cash reward.


Convenience Store Robbery


Robbery detectives are also actively working to identify this armed suspect who robbed a convenience store in Berwyn Heights. The suspect robbed the store on Greenbelt Road on February 16th at about 11: 40 pm. He wore red shoes and had a red scarf covering a portion of his face. Please call 301-772-4905 or 1-866-411-TIPS. Package Theft Suspect



Our detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying this man. He’s wanted for stealing a package from a home on Lumar Drive in Fort Washington. This occurred on February 9th at approximately 4:20 pm. He was seen driving a black pickup truck. If you recognize him, please call 301-749-5064.

Detectives Arrest Suspect for Throwing Sulfuric Acid on Roommate


Bekre Abdela

 Detectives located and arrested a suspect for throwing sulfuric acid on his roommate’s face and upper body causing critical injuries. The suspect is 28-year-old Bekre Abdela of the 1000 block of East-West Highway in the unincorporated portion of Hyattsville. He’s charged with attempted murder, assault and additional charges.

On February 24th, at approximately 7:30 pm, officers responded to the 1000 block of East-West Highway for the report of a roommate dispute. When they arrived, they discovered the victim suffering from what appear to be chemical burns. The victim, an adult female, was rushed to a hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Detectives quickly developed the roommate as the suspect. He had fled the scene by the time our officers arrived. On February 26th, the suspect was located and arrested. He has admitted his involvement in the attack. The motive is under investigation.

Detectives Investigate Homicide in Oxon Hill


Homicide Unit detectives are actively working to arrest the suspect who fatally stabbed a man in Oxon Hill. The victim is 23-year-old Yefrin Argueta of South Wakefield Street in Arlington, VA. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

On February 25th, at approximately 10:45 pm, Maryland-National Capital Park Police officers and Prince George's County Police officers responded to the 1100 block of Marcy Avenue for the report of a stabbing. When they arrived on scene, officers found the victim outside suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital.

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and establish a motive.

PGPD Investigating Edmonston Police Officer-Involved Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a shooting involving an Edmonston Police officer. The incident occurred on February 22nd at approximately 10:15 am in Bladensburg.

The preliminary investigation reveals the officer and the involved citizen encountered each other at a business in the 4000 block of Kenilworth Avenue. During that encounter, there was an altercation between the officer and the citizen during which the officer discharged his duty weapon, striking the citizen two times. The citizen remains hospitalized in serious condition.  The circumstances surrounding the altercation are at the center of the investigation.

All questions regarding the identity and status of the involved officer should be directed to the Edmonston Police Department.
