The Prince George’s County Police Department is pleased to announce Terri Tolliver will lead the Media Relations Division as the new Media Relations Manager. She brings a wealth of experience in Broadcast Journalism, strategic communications, investigative reporting, and public information to the department.

Ms. Tolliver joins the department following a career spanning nearly 30 years at Fox 5 DC, where she held several newsroom leadership and editorial roles. Her work included overseeing news coverage, developing community partnerships and helping shape stories that connect communities. A storyteller at heart, she’s won 20 Emmy Awards for stories chronicling the rise of the DC Snipers to a resurgence in roller skating.

Most recently, Ms. Tolliver served as the Public Information Representative with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the federal law enforcement agency responsible for protecting the U.S. Postal Service. In that role, she communicated critical public safety information, supported targeted law enforcement activities across the country, and raised awareness surrounding scams and fraud. Her experience working both sides of the microphone, as a journalist and in law enforcement communications, gives her a unique perspective on the relationship between our police department and the communities we serve.

“I grew up in Prince George’s County, graduated from Bowie High, and attended Prince George’s Community College before graduating from American University in DC. Having spent much of my life and career connected to Prince George’s County, this opportunity is especially meaningful to me. I look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with our media partners, strengthening community connections through a commitment to transparency, and telling the story of the department’s work to protect and serve our residents.”
