WANTED WEDNESDAY

Fairmount Heights Homicide

George Waymer

Our homicide unit is seeking our community’s help in solving a case from 2012.  On July 8, 2012, 16-year-old George Waymer was shot and killed in Fairmount Heights while playing basketball with friends in the 5700 block of Aspen Street.  Detectives believe robbery was the likely motive. They’re looking for a green Ford Crown Victoria seen in the area that night.  Detectives believe the occupants of that car may have approached George and his friends before the shooting. Our detectives believe that the occupants may have approached other people in the area that night too.  George’s mother is urging anyone with information to please come forward.

Laquette Dunn, "I do know that justice needs to be served and whoever did this to my son needs to be put away because they could very well do this to someone else’s child, or another person, and that’s not right."

Detective Jeffery Eckrich, “I believe somebody saw something out there. I believe George and his friends weren’t the only people approached that night. Those people might not have contacted the police that night, but if they believe they were approached by the subjects, they could contact the homicide unit. Or Crime Solvers.”
