Detectives Searching for Suspect Who Broke Into Riverdale Park Home

Prince George’s County Police detectives are actively working to identify and arrest a man who broke into a home in Riverdale Park Tuesday morning as a family slept inside.

On August 7th, at approximately 6:30 am, officers with the Riverdale Park Police Department were called to the home in the 5000 block of Jefferson Street for the report of a breaking and entering. The preliminary investigation reveals a victim told officers a man broke into her apartment as she and her two young children slept. The suspect then touched a young girl on her leg and back. The suspect ran from the apartment after the mother confronted him. The victims were not hurt. The Prince George’s County Police Department was notified and immediately opened an investigation.

The suspect is described as an African American male, approximately 5’11”, with a thin build.

There are currently no other similar incidents reported in the Riverdale Park area.
